Beginner Handbuilding Class

Studio A — Handbuilding (No experience needed)

A beginner-friendly handbuilding experience designed for first-time guests and returning creatives alike.

Discover the calming and creative process of working with clay by hand in a warm, guided studio environment. Guests receive step-by-step instruction while exploring foundational handbuilding techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab building to create unique ceramic pieces from scratch.

Studio A focuses on the experience of creating, learning, and enjoying the versatility of clay — no prior experience needed.

What’s Included

• Guided handbuilding instruction
• Clay and bisque firing
• Up to 2 handmade ceramic pieces per participant
• Small-group boutique studio experience

After your session, your pieces will be carefully dried and bisque-fired by the Nushi team.

Once your pieces are ready, you may choose one of the following options:

• Return to the studio during a glazing session to glaze your own work and make it uniquely yours (additional glazing and firing fees may apply)
• Have the Nushi team professionally apply a clear glaze and complete the final firing for you

Finished pieces are typically ready for pickup approximately 2–4 weeks after your session, depending on the glazing option selected.

Ages

Studio A handbuilding experiences are recommended for ages 8 and up.

Guests ages 8–11 must participate with a registered accompanying adult. Both participants must reserve their own spots for the experience.

Guests ages 12+ may participate independently.

For younger artists, we also offer seasonal workshops, camps, and creative studio experiences designed for children.

Good to Know

• Please arrive on time to enjoy the full experience
• Comfortable clothing is recommended — clay can get messy during the creative process
• Beverages are welcome during handbuilding sessions
• A reservation deposit is required to hold your spot. Deposits are refundable for cancellations made at least 24 hours before your scheduled experience
• If you need to reschedule, your deposit may be transferred to a future session
• Pottery is a handmade art form, and each piece moves through multiple stages of drying, glazing, and kiln firing. While we carefully guide every creation through the ceramic process, occasional imperfections or breakage may naturally occur during firing

The heart of the experience is the creative process itself — learning, creating, and enjoying time with clay in a welcoming studio environment.

To provide the best possible experience, Studio A sessions require a minimum of 2 registered participants. If minimum enrollment is not reached, we may contact you to help move your reservation to another available session or issue studio credit that can be used toward a future experience. We will always do our best to provide advance notice and convenient alternatives.

We can’t wait to create with you.
